1. Service overview

optimal plan SEARCH — Japan Research Service provides research, search, information gathering, organization, and reporting based on publicly available Japanese-language sources. The service is operated by optimal plan.

2. How requests work

Submitting an inquiry is free of charge. After reviewing your request, we will provide a quote outlining the proposed scope and price. No payment is required until you have reviewed and approved the quote.

Research begins after payment has been confirmed.

3. Pricing

Each request is quoted individually based on scope and complexity. We do not display fixed prices. The currency and amount will be specified in the quote for each project.

4. Payment

Payment is accepted via Stripe Payment Link (credit card). Bank transfer may be available in some cases; please inquire for details.

Research begins after payment is confirmed. For bank transfers, payment is confirmed upon receipt of funds.

5. Delivery

We aim to deliver results within 7 days of payment confirmation. The actual timeline depends on the complexity and scope of the research, and will be specified in the quote.

6. No guarantee of results

We cannot guarantee that every piece of requested information exists or is publicly available. If we are unable to locate the requested information after a thorough search, we will report the scope of research conducted and what was and was not confirmed. We do not fabricate, speculate, or present unverified information as fact.

7. Scope of research

We research only publicly available information. We do not engage in any of the following:

• —Hacking or unauthorized access to any system
• —Acquisition of non-public or protected personal information
• —Impersonation or deceptive contact with third parties
• —Surveillance or monitoring of individuals
• —Any research that violates applicable laws or regulations

If a request falls outside what we can responsibly fulfill, we will notify you before any payment is made.

8. Use of AI

AI tools may be used to assist with tasks such as translation, organizing research notes, or summarizing material. However, AI-generated text is never treated as evidence or a source. All findings are verified by a human researcher and delivered with source references where possible.

9. Cancellation and refunds

Before research begins

If you cancel before research has started, we will generally issue a full refund, less any actual costs incurred in processing the refund (such as bank transfer fees).

After research has begun — cancellation by the client

If research has already begun and you request cancellation, a refund is generally not available, as work has already been performed.

If we are unable to continue

If we are unable to continue the research due to reasons on our side, we will issue a full or partial refund depending on the progress made at the time.

If the requested information cannot be found

Fees are charged for the research work performed, not for the discovery of specific information. If the requested information cannot be confirmed after a thorough search, a refund is generally not available. We will still provide a report on the scope of research conducted and what was and was not found.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time due to changes in applicable law or service operations. Updates may be made without prior notice.
